Sighted Guide Volunteers

This is a great opportunity to get hands-on community service experience working with the blind, visually impaired and senior community in the greater Boston and surrounding areas. The basic role involves assisting the workshop participants as they learn how to use the sewing tools and quilting kits.

Training: Free training will be provided requiring about 2 hours of time prior to scheduled workshops.

Prior experience: experience with basic sewing skills is helpful (threading a needle and basic hand stitching) but there is no need for prior quilting experience.

Behind the Scenes Volunteers

For those who may wish to work behind the scenes, we also welcome assistance with:

Fabric Cutting & Sewing
Fabric Intake & Sorting
Quilt Kit Design Assistance for our new Mitsy Kit quilting packages!

Fill out the volunteer form below and we will contact you about your volunteer selection.

To our Volunteers – A HUGE Thank You!

We love our volunteers and are so thankful for everything they contribute!

Our goal with the Mitsy kits is to provide a sense of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment for both our workshop participants and our volunteers.  Let us know how we are doing, fill out the form, or post on facebook.  Let us know what you are making, or ideas you have for new Mitsy Kit designs!
