Volunteers are essential to enable our mission, ensure sustainability, and to help build community awareness.  We welcome working with those who share our mission!

Opportunities for students, seniors, and others to volunteer or intern in our program include the following:

  • Workshop Guides – assisting clients to learn how to use the Mitsy Kits and complete their projects at client locations in your local area. This generally includes one to two hour workshops at centers for the blind, Alzheimer care facilities, senior centers, or other rehabilitation centers. Volunteers will be accompanied by Mitsy Kit staff.
  • Mitsy Kit Assembly – including cutting, sewing, and packaging of fabric components at our rented space in the First United Baptist Church at 99 Church street in Lowell MA.
  • Communications / Technical Assistance – help develop flyers, video training, newsletters, website updates.
  • Grant Writing Assistance – research of grant opportunities and writing of applications.
